When you are mistaken for a law student...

How do you know you just spent too much on textbooks? When you are mistaken for a law student like I was at the bookstore today. Yep, I walked out of the there $655.75 lighter than when I entered. The most disappointing part- all the books fit into one canvas bag. Sigh. I think the clerk was also fooled by my book titles. Here's a tantalizing sampling:
- Public Law and Public Administration
- The Warping of Government Work
- Public Administration: The Profession and the Practice
- Managerial Economics
- Cases on Public Law and Public Administration
- Statistical Methods and Data Analysis.

You want to know the crazy part? I can't wait to read them all.

I also started looking at internships tonight. Suddenly a job title like Policy Analyst for the Southern Nevada Water Authority or Environmental Protection Agency seems highly plausible. I don't know about you, but too me that sounds pretty darn tootin' cool. Maybe I could even get the job title "decider."

Bloomington is wonderful, especially now that the unbearable heat and humidity have broken. It's been down right pleasant for the last few days.

Go Hoosiers!

I would like to see a bit about your summer Kate Logan. This should be framed around the summer's two most important parts:

1. The time you had rice and rice for dinner.

2. Your favorite bottom bunkmate/ gum snatcher.

you'll be happy to know that I no longer throw a fit every morning.

Katharine darlingpants, I am glad that you are looking forward to reading all those books. It sounds like you have found your niche. I, on the other hand, would rather eat those books than read them, so perhaps it is good we are where we are.

I have reverted back to 3rd grade, as per my orientations program for this fellowship. Every day all 30 of us plus 1 "seminar leader person" and we go visit museums and companies and places of interest. We hold hands when we cross the street and sing songs on the bus. Well, not quite, but I think we should.

Anyway, miss you oodles and I'm glad to hear Indiana weather is nice. Bonn is cold. There is no summer here. Good thing I was in sweltering Beijing for most of it.

Hugs,
Abby
